About ARM

ARM (NASDAQ:ARM) Holdings plc (NASDAQ: ARM) is a semiconductor and software design company that develops intellectual property used to create energy-efficient computing products. Arm does not generally manufacture chips; instead, it licenses processor architectures, CPU cores, graphics technologies and related system IP to semiconductor companies and original equipment manufacturers, which incorporate them into their own products.

The company’s offerings include the Cortex family of CPUs for mobile, consumer, automotive and embedded applications; Neoverse platforms for cloud and data-center infrastructure; Mali graphics processing units; and Ethos neural processing units designed for artificial intelligence and machine-learning workloads. Arm also provides interconnect, security and system-design technologies, along with software and development tools that support its architecture.

Arm-based technology is used across smartphones, tablets, personal computers, automotive systems, networking equipment, industrial devices and Internet of Things products. The company serves customers and partners worldwide through a licensing model that typically combines upfront license fees with royalties based on products incorporating its designs.

Arm traces its origins to the creation of Advanced RISC Machines in the United Kingdom in 1990, following technology developed by Acorn Computers. SoftBank acquired Arm in 2016, and Arm returned to the public markets in 2023. The company is headquartered in Cambridge, England, and is led by Chief Executive Officer Rene Haas.
