About Joby Aviation

Joby Aviation (NYSE:JOBY) (NYSE: JOBY) is an aviation company developing all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for commercial passenger transportation. Its aircraft are designed to take off and land vertically like a helicopter while providing quieter, lower-emission transportation for short urban and regional trips.

The company is pursuing an integrated air-taxi business model that includes designing and manufacturing its aircraft, operating passenger services, and developing the software and infrastructure needed to support aerial mobility. Joby’s five-seat aircraft are intended to be piloted initially, with the company working through the Federal Aviation Administration’s aircraft type certification and production approval processes before beginning broad commercial operations.

Founded in 2009 by JoeBen Bevirt, Joby became a publicly traded company in 2021 through a business combination with Reinvent Technology Partners. Bevirt serves as the company’s founder and chief executive officer. Joby has strategic relationships with companies including Toyota and Delta Air Lines and has announced plans to develop air-taxi services in the United States and Dubai, United Arab Emirates, subject to regulatory approvals and operational readiness.
