Dorel Industries (OTCMKTS:DIIBF) was a Canadian consumer-products company headquartered in Montreal, Quebec. Its operations historically focused on juvenile products, home furnishings and bicycles, serving retailers and consumers in North America, Europe and other international markets.
Through its Dorel Juvenile segment, the company developed and marketed car seats, strollers, playards, high chairs and other infant and child-care products under brands including Safety 1st, Maxi-Cosi, Cosco and Quinny. Its home-products business offered ready-to-assemble furniture, mattresses, desks, chairs and other household products sold through retail and e-commerce channels under brands such as Ameriwood Home, Dorel Living and Cosco.
Dorel also historically operated Dorel Sports, whose portfolio included bicycle brands such as Cannondale, Schwinn, GT, Mongoose and Pacific Cycle. Dorel Sports was sold to Pon Holdings in 2022. Later that year, Dorel Industries was acquired by affiliates of Cerberus Capital Management and became a privately held company, ending its public-market listing. The company was built by the Schwartz family, with Martin Schwartz serving as president and chief executive officer during its later years as a public company.
