OMV (OTCMKTS:OMVKY) Aktiengesellschaft is an Austria-based, integrated energy, fuels and chemicals company headquartered in Vienna. Founded in 1956 as Österreichische Mineralölverwaltung, the company has developed from a national oil enterprise into an international energy group serving customers primarily in Europe and selected markets in the Middle East and North Africa.
OMV’s energy operations include the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas, natural gas trading and supply, and the processing and marketing of fuels. The company operates refineries and a network of filling stations, and is also involved in natural gas storage and other energy infrastructure. Its refining and marketing activities serve retail, commercial and industrial customers.
Through its majority ownership of Borealis, OMV also has a significant chemicals and materials business. Alfred Stern has served as OMV’s chief executive officer since September 2021. The company’s principal operating markets include Austria, Germany, Romania and other Central and Eastern European countries, with upstream and energy activities extending to additional international regions.
