About ARM

ARM (NASDAQ:ARM) Holdings plc is a semiconductor and software intellectual property company headquartered in Cambridge, England. Rather than manufacturing chips, Arm develops processor architectures and technology designs that it licenses to semiconductor companies, device manufacturers and other technology businesses for use in their own products.

Arm’s portfolio includes central processing unit (CPU) architectures and processor cores, graphics processing units (GPUs), systems IP, interconnect technology, security solutions and related software and development tools. Its technology is used across smartphones, tablets, personal computers, automotive systems, data centers, networking equipment, embedded devices and the Internet of Things.

The company traces its origins to the formation of Advanced RISC Machines in 1990 as a joint venture involving Acorn Computers, Apple and VLSI Technology. Arm was acquired by SoftBank Group in 2016 and returned to the public markets through a listing on Nasdaq in 2023. Its products and licensing relationships support a global ecosystem of semiconductor and technology companies. Arm is led by Chief Executive Officer Rene Haas.
