About Enel

Enel (OTCMKTS:ENLAY) S.p.A. is a multinational energy company headquartered in Rome, Italy. It specializes in the generation, distribution and sale of electricity and gas, serving residential, commercial and industrial customers. Enel’s business activities encompass both conventional thermal power plants and a growing portfolio of renewable energy assets, including wind, solar, hydroelectric and geothermal installations. The company also provides advanced energy management services, electric vehicle charging infrastructure and demand response solutions.

Founded in 1962 as a state-owned electricity provider, Enel underwent partial privatization starting in the late 1990s and was listed on the Milan Stock Exchange in 1999. Since then, the company has pursued a strategy of international expansion and technological innovation, with a particular emphasis on sustainability and decarbonization. Enel Green Power, the group’s renewable arm established in 2008, has driven much of its growth in clean energy generation.

Enel operates in more than 30 countries across Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia. In its core European markets—Italy and Spain—the company manages extensive distribution networks and retail operations. In Latin America, Enel maintains significant presence in Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru, focusing on both generation and grid development. Further operations span North America, Eastern Europe and select markets in Africa, with ongoing investments in smart grid technologies and digital services to enhance reliability and customer engagement.

Since April 2014, Francesco Starace has held the position of Chief Executive Officer, steering Enel’s shift toward renewable energy and digital transformation. Under his leadership, the company has set ambitious targets for reducing carbon emissions and expanding renewable capacity. The board of directors, chaired by Stefano Donnarumma, oversees corporate governance and strategic direction, with a focus on ethical conduct, stakeholder value and long-term growth.
