Shinhan Financial Group (NYSE:SHG) Co., Ltd. is a South Korean financial holding company headquartered in Seoul. Through its subsidiaries, the group provides a broad range of financial services, including retail and corporate banking, credit cards, securities brokerage and investment banking, asset management, life insurance, consumer finance and other specialized financial services.

Its principal banking operations are conducted through Shinhan Bank, while other major businesses include Shinhan Card, Shinhan Securities, Shinhan Life Insurance and Shinhan Asset Management. The group serves individual customers, businesses, institutions and government-related entities through branch networks, digital platforms and other distribution channels.

Shinhan Financial Group traces its origins to Shinhan Bank, which was established in 1982, and was formed as a financial holding company in 2001. Although South Korea is its primary market, the group also maintains operations and partnerships across selected markets in Asia, North America, Europe and other regions to support Korean and international customers. Its management oversees the group through a holding-company structure and coordinates strategy across its banking and nonbank financial subsidiaries.
