About Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior

Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior (NYSE:BLX) S.A., commonly known as BLADEx and traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol BLX, is a multilateral financial institution dedicated to promoting foreign trade and regional integration in Latin America and the Caribbean. Headquartered in Panama City, the bank provides specialized trade finance solutions to corporate clients and financial institutions, helping to facilitate cross-border transactions across key markets in the region. Its services encompass import and export financing, supply chain solutions, project and structured finance, as well as treasury and risk management products.

Established in 1977 by a consortium of 20 Latin American and Caribbean governments in partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), BLADEx has a mandate to support economic development through trade facilitation. Over time, the institution has expanded its shareholder base to include non-regional members such as Japan and Spain, and today is governed by a Board of Governors comprising representatives from each shareholder country. This structure enables the bank to leverage multilateral expertise and maintain a balance between public policy objectives and commercial discipline.

BLADEx’s product portfolio features a range of short- and medium-term financing instruments, including documentary credit lines, receivables purchase programs, working capital loans, and trade-related guarantees. The bank also offers structured financing for infrastructure, agribusiness, energy and telecommunications projects, and provides advisory services to help clients manage foreign exchange and interest rate exposures. Through customized solutions and partnerships with local banks and multilateral agencies, it addresses credit constraints and supports the growth of regional exporters and importers.

With a network of offices in Mexico City, Bogotá and Guatemala City, BLADEx maintains a strong presence across its target markets and collaborates closely with sovereigns, corporates and financial intermediaries. By issuing debt in international capital markets and maintaining high credit standards, the institution ensures sustainable funding for its trade finance activities. This strategic positioning enables BLADEx to continue advancing its mission of fostering economic integration and inclusive growth throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
