Emphasis on quality control and supply-chain integration has supported its growth in competitive outdoor segments.

The company traces its roots to Black Diamond Equipment, which was founded in 1989 by Peter Metcalf to address the evolving needs of climbers and skiers. In 2014, following a merger with a special purpose acquisition company, the group became publicly traded under the name Clarus Corporation. Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, Clarus continues to expand its product offerings and market presence through ongoing innovation and strategic brand development.
