About Penumbra

Penumbra (NYSE:PEN) is a medical device company that develops, manufactures and markets products used to treat vascular conditions and other serious medical disorders. The company is best known for its minimally invasive technologies designed to remove blood clots, restore blood flow and support the treatment of neurovascular conditions, including ischemic stroke.

Its product portfolio includes aspiration and thrombectomy systems, embolization devices, access and delivery systems, and other technologies used by physicians in neurointerventional and peripheral vascular procedures. Penumbra also develops products for treating aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and selected conditions affecting blood vessels outside the brain.

Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Alameda, California, Penumbra serves hospitals and health care providers in the United States and international markets. The company’s products are distributed through a combination of direct sales and international distribution arrangements. Adam Elsesser is Penumbra’s chairman and chief executive officer.
