About Enanta Pharmaceuticals

Enanta Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:ENTA) is a biotechnology company focused on discovering and developing small-molecule therapies for viral infections and other diseases. The company’s research has primarily centered on antiviral medicines, including treatments for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), hepatitis B, and other infectious diseases.

Enanta is best known for its role in the development of glecaprevir, a protease inhibitor used with pibrentasvir in AbbVie’s Mavyret (also marketed as Maviret) treatment for chronic hepatitis C virus infection. The company also discovered paritaprevir, which was incorporated into earlier AbbVie hepatitis C regimens. Enanta receives royalties associated with certain products developed through its collaborations.

Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Watertown, Massachusetts, Enanta conducts research and clinical development activities through collaborations and its internal drug-discovery programs. Its pipeline has included orally administered antiviral candidates targeting RSV and other viruses. The company is led by Jay R. Luly, Ph.D., who has served as president and chief executive officer.
