Through its operating companies, Sampo provides insurance products and related services to individuals, businesses and public-sector organizations, including coverage for motor vehicles, homes, property, travel, personal accidents, liability and business risks.
Sampo’s principal insurance operations include If P&C Insurance, which serves customers across Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the Baltic countries, and Topdanmark, a major insurer in Denmark. The group also has a presence in the United Kingdom through Hastings, which specializes in retail motor insurance. Its operations are supported by digital distribution, underwriting, claims handling and risk-management services.
The company traces its origins to 1909 and has evolved from a Finnish insurance business into a focused Nordic and UK property and casualty insurance group.
