About COMPANHIA ENERG/S

Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais S.A. (NYSE: CIG.C), commonly known as CEMIG, is one of Brazil’s leading integrated power companies. Headquartered in Belo Horizonte, the company traces its origins back to 1952 and has grown into a major player in electricity generation, transmission and distribution. Through its diversified portfolio of hydroelectric, thermal and renewable energy facilities, CEMIG serves both regulated and free‐market customers across multiple Brazilian states.

CEMIG operates a generation fleet that includes large hydroelectric plants on the São Francisco, Jequitaí and Rio Grande river basins, as well as natural gas–fired and wind power facilities. Its transmission network spans more than 12,000 km and interconnects with the national grid, while its distribution arm delivers electricity to over 7 million customers in the state of Minas Gerais. The company also holds stakes in regional distribution concessions in other Brazilian states, extending its reach beyond its home market.

In recent years, CEMIG has expanded into adjacent businesses such as natural gas distribution and telecommunication infrastructure, leveraging its extensive rights‐of‐way alongside power corridors. The firm is majority‐owned by the Government of Minas Gerais and is governed by a board of directors composed of state‐appointed and independent members. Through ongoing investments in grid modernization and renewable energy projects, CEMIG aims to strengthen its role in Brazil’s energy transition while maintaining reliable service in its core territories.
