About Larimar Therapeutics

Larimar Therapeutics (NASDAQ:LRMR) is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for rare diseases caused by deficiencies in mitochondrial proteins. The company’s platform is designed to use cell-penetrating peptides to transport therapeutic proteins into cells and mitochondria, where they may help restore impaired biological functions.

Larimar’s lead product candidate is nomlabofusp, formerly known as CTI-1601, an investigational protein-replacement therapy for Friedreich ataxia. The treatment is intended to deliver functional frataxin, a mitochondrial protein that is deficient in people with the disease. Friedreich ataxia is a rare, inherited disorder that can cause progressive neurological and neuromuscular impairment.

Based in the United States, Larimar conducts research and clinical development activities aimed at serving patients with rare mitochondrial and other protein-deficiency disorders. The company is led by President and Chief Executive Officer Carole Ben-Maimon, M.D., and its development programs remain subject to clinical, regulatory and manufacturing requirements before any product can be commercially available.
