The company operates primarily through the Telcel brand in Mexico and the Claro brand across much of Latin America and the Caribbean. Depending on the market, América Móvil offers mobile connectivity, internet access, television, cloud and data-center services, cybersecurity, managed business communications, and related digital products.

América Móvil was formed in 2000 after being separated from Telmex’s wireless operations and has since expanded through acquisitions and investments across the Americas and Europe. Daniel Hajj Aboumrad serves as the company’s chief executive officer, while Carlos Slim Domit serves as chairman of the board. The company’s American depositary shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol AMX.
