Entravision Communications NYSE: EVC reported an 88% increase in third-quarter 2026 revenue as its advertising technology business grew, while the company said it would explore alternatives for its television operations without a Univision affiliation.
Revenue rose to $226.3 million from the third quarter of 2025, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer Mark Boelke said on the earnings call. Growth was driven primarily by the advertising technology and services segment, known as ATS, where revenue more than doubled.
Boelke said the company also agreed to sell its television stations serving the Tampa, Florida, market for $30 million. Entravision plans to review its capital allocation priorities in early 2027, he said, as the company weighs changes in its business and asset sales.
Advertising Technology Drives Growth
ATS revenue increased 133% from a year earlier to $177.2 million, while segment operating profit rose 261% to $35.2 million, according to Boelke. The business had more monthly active accounts and higher revenue per account.
Chief Executive Officer and Board Chair Michael Christenson called ATS the company’s growth engine. He said Entravision is investing in artificial intelligence capabilities, sales and customer operations, and infrastructure intended to help the business scale efficiently.
Compared with the second quarter of 2026, ATS revenue fell 3% and operating profit declined 12%. Boelke attributed the sequential reduction in operating margin partly to sales, engineering and advertising operations employees hired in the first half who were fully onboarded by the third quarter. He also cited temporary cloud expenses associated with a multi-cloud migration for parts of the Smadex platform, which the company does not expect to recur in future quarters.
Boelke said Entravision still expects fourth-quarter ATS revenue growth of more than 100% year over year. He cautioned that spending by large customers can vary and meaningfully affect quarterly results. Winning more large customers remains a priority and could reduce concentration in any single customer, he said.
Media Business and Political Advertising
Media segment revenue rose 10% to $49.1 million, primarily because of increased political advertising broadcast revenue, Boelke said. The segment reported an operating profit of $0.1 million, compared with a $3.5 million loss a year earlier.
Third-quarter media revenue included $6 million in political advertising. Christenson said Entravision expects approximately $25 million in political revenue for all of 2026, at the lower end of its internal target range. That compares with $34 million in 2024 and $32 million in 2022.
Christenson said advertising spending was good in Texas House races but that most other targeted races were at the low end of expectations. He singled out the Texas U.S. Senate race as particularly disappointing for Spanish-language media.
Entravision extended its Univision affiliation agreement through March 31, 2027, to allow more time for discussions with TelevisaUnivision, Christenson said. The company has since decided to explore strategic alternatives for its TV business without a Univision affiliation. Boelke said Entravision also expects to reset the media segment’s organizational structure and expenses to align costs with revenue and generate a profit in 2027.
Financial Results and Capital Allocation
Boelke reported consolidated operating income of $28.3 million, compared with an operating loss of $9.1 million a year earlier. He said consolidated segment operating profit was $35.2 million, up from $6.2 million. Earlier in the call, Christenson described rounded figures of $35 million and $6 million as consolidated operating income, differing from the figures Boelke later reported.
Entravision ended the quarter with $90 million in cash and marketable securities and $153 million outstanding under its credit facility after a $5 million debt repayment. The company paid $4.6 million in dividends during the quarter and approved a fourth-quarter dividend of $0.05 per share, payable December 31 to shareholders of record on December 17.
Boelke said the company intends to finish 2026 under its existing capital allocation strategy, prioritizing debt reduction and low leverage, followed by returns to shareholders primarily through dividends. Management and the board plan to review those priorities in early 2027 and discuss the review on the fourth-quarter earnings call, he said.
