It is an established low-cost, diversified base-metals producer, with capacity to generate annual copper production of up to 14,000 tonnes, zinc production of up to 21,000 tonnes and lead production of up to 29,000 tonnes. In November 2017, the acquisition of the Sasa zinc and lead mine in North Macedonia was completed for a total consideration of $402.5 million. Since then, there has been substantial investment into the mine through the Company’s capital projects. During 2023, CAML set up an exploration subsidiary, CAML Exploration (CAML X) with a team of early-stage exploration geologists in Kazakhstan. Potential target areas have been reviewed and remain under review. The Company expects to spend up to $3 million during 2024 on exploration work in Kazakhstan. In June 2024, CAML completed a £3 million initial investment into Aberdeen Minerals Ltd (Aberdeen) and has received warrants to invest an additional £2 million. Upon completion, Louise Wrathall, CAML Executive Director of Corporate Development, joined the Aberdeen board as a Non-Executive Director. Aberdeen has already demonstrated the presence of scalable copper-nickel-cobalt mineralisation at Arthrath, in northeast Scotland, with encouraging drilling and geophysics results, and a compelling exploration model for high-grade base-metal sulphides at depth.
