Commercial Metals Company (NYSE: CMC) is a steel and metals manufacturing and recycling company headquartered in Irving, Texas. Founded in 1915, the company began as a scrap-metal business and has grown into an integrated producer, recycler and fabricator serving construction and industrial markets.

CMC manufactures and distributes a range of steel products, including reinforcing bar, merchant bar, wire rod, structural products, wire mesh and other products used in concrete construction and infrastructure projects. Its construction-services activities include steel fabrication, placing and related services for commercial, residential, transportation and other building projects.

The company also operates metal recycling facilities that collect, process and prepare ferrous and nonferrous scrap for use in steel production. CMC serves customers primarily in the United States and Poland through its network of recycling centers, steel mills, fabrication facilities and distribution locations. Its operations include electric-arc-furnace steelmaking, which uses recycled scrap as a primary raw material.
