The company later separated its eye-care business, Alcon, and completed the spin-off of its generic and biosimilar medicines business, Sandoz, as an independent company in 2023. Vas Narasimhan has served as Novartis’ chief executive officer since 2018, while Jörg Reinhardt is chairman of the board.
