ASX’s businesses include ASX Trade, its electronic trading platform; ASX Clear and ASX Clear (Futures), which provide central counterparty clearing; and ASX Settlement and Austraclear, which support the settlement and custody of securities and cash-market transactions. The company also offers market data, technology and information services to listed companies, brokers, institutional investors and other financial-market participants.

ASX traces its modern history to the 1987 establishment of a national Australian exchange and became a public company in 1998. It merged with the Sydney Futures Exchange in 2006, broadening its activities to include futures and other derivatives. Based in Sydney, ASX primarily serves the Australian market while supporting domestic and international issuers, intermediaries and investors that participate in Australian capital markets.
