Company Overview

Eagle Pharmaceuticals, Inc. was a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing injectable and intranasal medicines, with an emphasis on products intended to improve existing therapies through differentiated formulations, dosing approaches, or delivery technologies. The company primarily served hospital, oncology, emergency medicine, and critical-care markets.

Eagle’s marketed products included Ryanodex, an injectable formulation of dantrolene sodium used to treat malignant hyperthermia; Belrapzo, a formulation of bendamustine hydrochloride used in certain blood cancers; and Pemfexy, a ready-to-dilute formulation of pemetrexed used in the treatment of certain lung cancers and mesothelioma. Its commercial activities were concentrated mainly in the United States, with selected products and rights supported through external partners in international markets.

Founded in 2007, Eagle was led for much of its history by founder and Chief Executive Officer Scott Tarriff. In 2024, Pharmacosmos A/S completed its acquisition of Eagle Pharmaceuticals, and Eagle became part of the Pharmacosmos Group. As a result, Eagle is no longer an independently traded company on the Nasdaq exchange, although its products and pharmaceutical operations continue under its parent organization.
