Snam also provides related infrastructure services and is expanding into energy-transition activities, including biomethane, hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, and energy-efficiency solutions.

Snam traces its origins to 1941 and became an independent listed company following the separation of Eni’s gas infrastructure operations in 2012. In addition to its core Italian activities, Snam has investments and partnerships in European energy infrastructure, including interests connected with the Trans Adriatic Pipeline and Greece’s DESFA gas network. The company is headquartered in San Donato Milanese, Italy.
