Matt McCall, Guest
Head Innovations Strategist, Monument Traders Alliance
Standing firm through the market crash of 2007 and telling Wall Street Journal readers not to panic, then spotting the promise of Bitcoin on Fox Business years before it made its historic run, Matt McCall has proven himself a born trend-spotter, someone with the rare ability to see where the market is headed long before the rest of Wall Street catches on.
Matt began his career as a stockbroker at Charles Schwab in 2000 before founding Penn Financial Group in 2004, an independent investment advisory firm built to help everyday investors grow long-term wealth. He also founded CrowdVest, one of the first equity crowdfunding platforms in the country – putting him at the forefront of a movement years before it became an industry.
That instinct for what was coming next made him a natural on television. Matt became a fixture on Fox Business, appearing more than 1,500 times as a regular contributor and co-host of Making Money with Charles Payne, discussing the markets, the economy, and emerging opportunities with the network’s biggest names.
As Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto put it: “Sometimes when everyone’s preaching doom and gloom, along comes a guy like Matt to not only make sense of it, but profit from it. Not only did he see the financial crisis coming but he saw our coming out of it as well. It’s how we do and when we do that one of my best guests gets right to the point, and you, right to the potential. Invest well; Matt’s got your back.”
Fellow Fox Business anchor Connell McShane agreed: “It’s one thing to recognize a shift in political realities, and it’s another to have a theory on investing. Combining the two can be very difficult, but Matt McCall has managed to do it with his ideas on ‘conversification.’”
Beyond Fox Business, Matt’s insight has been sought out by the Wall Street Journal, CNBC, CNN, Reuters, Bloomberg Businessweek, Bloomberg TV, Seeking Alpha, Investopedia, Investor’s Business Daily, and many more.
He has also authored two bestselling investment books, The Next Great Bull Market: How to Pick Winning Stocks and Sectors in the New Global Economy and The Swing Trader’s Bible: Strategies to Profit From Market Volatility.
Chicago equity trader Dan Connolly called The Next Great Bull Market “a must read for anyone serious about getting ahead in our ever changing global economy.”
Mark Whistler, founder of WallStreetRockStar.com, praised it as “a rock-solid Wall Street field guide specifically tailored for at-home investors.”
But it’s Matt’s calls – made publicly, on the record, years ahead of the rest of the market – that speak loudest.
In August 2007, just as the market began to crack, Matt told Wall Street Journal readers not to panic and to keep their eyes on the long term: “It’s not the greatest one- week trade, but if you can look out further, it’s a great time and you’ll look back and say, ‘Why was I so scared?’” Since then, the Dow has climbed roughly 52,600 points – nearly 300%.
He called the bottom of the financial crisis on Fox News’ Bulls and Bears in late 2008, urging viewers not to give up on stocks – and backed it up in 2009 with the release of his book The Next Great Bull Market.
In 2012, ahead of Facebook’s hyped IPO, he went on CNN and told viewers to wait roughly two weeks and buy at a limit 20% below the closing price on IPO day. The stock did exactly that – and investors who followed his advice could have captured gains as high as 2,483% since then.
In 2014, years before it went mainstream, Matt was an early supporter of Bitcoin on Fox Business – long before it went on to surge as much as 19,615%.
In 2019, he predicted 5G would “unleash the market’s next trillion-dollar winner.” Since then, five companies have joined the trillion-dollar market cap club, in no small part thanks to the rollout of 5G.
And Matt recommended every one of the Magnificent 7 stocks to his readers before they ever earned that name – most going on to deliver gains of more than 1,000%.
The thread connecting each of these calls is Matt’s singular ability to spot a shift before it has a name – the bottom of a crash, a hyped IPO, a digital currency dismissed as a fad, a wireless standard about to remake the market’s biggest winners. Whether it was 2007, 2012, or 2019, Matt has consistently found the signal before the crowd did, identifying more than 50 stocks over his career that went on to produce gains of 1,000% or more.
Today, Matt focuses on the forces reshaping the global economy – artificial intelligence, robotics, digital infrastructure, energy, biotechnology, quantum computing, and blockchain technology – helping investors find the megatrends that can build extraordinary wealth over the next decade. In 2026, he joined Monument Traders Alliance as Head Innovations Strategist and editor of The McCall Innovations Report and the free daily e-letter The First Move, continuing his mission of finding tomorrow’s biggest stocks before the rest of Wall Street does.
