About Cyclerion Therapeutics

Cyclerion Therapeutics (NASDAQ:CYCN) was a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing medicines that target soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC), an enzyme involved in nitric oxide signaling. The company investigated sGC stimulators for diseases affecting the central nervous system, cardiovascular system and other organs.

Cyclerion’s development programs included zagociguat (formerly CY6463), an oral sGC stimulator studied for central nervous system disorders, as well as praliciguat and olinciguat, which were investigated for conditions involving vascular and metabolic dysfunction. The company’s programs were primarily in clinical development rather than commercial production, and Cyclerion did not have an established portfolio of marketed products.

Cyclerion was formed in 2019 through a spinout from Ironwood Pharmaceuticals and was headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Its operations and programs were focused on drug discovery and clinical development, with no broad geographic commercial presence reported. Publicly available information indicates that the company subsequently reduced or wound down its operations, so its historical pipeline should be distinguished from the activities of any successor or other entity holding rights to its programs.
