About GATX

GATX (NYSE:GATX) is a global railcar leasing company that owns, manages and leases freight railcars to shippers, railroads and other transportation companies. Its fleet serves a range of industries, including energy, chemicals, agriculture, food products and general manufacturing. GATX also provides related services such as railcar maintenance, repair, refurbishment and fleet management.

The company operates primarily through GATX Rail North America and GATX Rail Europe, with additional railcar leasing activities in India. Its European operations serve customers across multiple European markets, while its North American business supports freight transportation throughout the United States and Canada. GATX maintains a network of service and maintenance facilities to support its railcar fleet and customers.

Founded in 1898, GATX has expanded from a transportation equipment business into a diversified asset-leasing company. In addition to railcars, the company has an investment in Rolls-Royce & Partners Finance, which owns and leases commercial aircraft spare engines. GATX is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, and is led by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Brian A. Kenney.
