First Citizens BancShares (NASDAQ:FCNCA) is a financial holding company headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina. Through its principal subsidiary, First-Citizens Bank & Trust Company, the company provides banking and financial services to individuals, businesses, nonprofit organizations and government entities.

Its offerings include consumer and commercial deposit accounts, residential and commercial real estate lending, business loans, treasury management, wealth management and investment services. The company also provides specialized banking services for areas such as technology and life sciences, healthcare, private equity and venture capital, as well as equipment financing and leasing through its CIT-related operations.

First Citizens traces its history to 1898 and has expanded through organic growth and acquisitions. In 2022, it completed its acquisition of CIT Group, broadening its commercial banking and specialty finance capabilities. In 2023, First Citizens acquired the deposits, loans and certain other assets of Silicon Valley Bridge Bank, substantially expanding its services for innovation-focused companies and their investors.

First Citizens serves customers across the United States through a network of branches, offices and digital banking channels. Frank B. Holding Jr. serves as chairman and chief executive officer of First Citizens BancShares and its banking subsidiary.
