About Nucor

Nucor (NYSE:NUE) is a Charlotte, North Carolina-based steel producer and one of the largest steel companies in North America. The company operates electric arc furnace (EAF) steel mills that use recycled scrap steel as a primary raw material, along with facilities that manufacture and process steel products for construction, manufacturing, transportation, energy and other industrial markets.

Nucor’s product portfolio includes carbon and alloy steel in sheet, plate, bar and structural forms, as well as reinforcing steel, wire and wire mesh. Through its downstream businesses, the company also produces steel joists, deck, cold-finished steel, fasteners, metal building systems and other fabricated steel products. Nucor operates a metals recycling network that supports its steelmaking operations and purchases and processes ferrous and nonferrous scrap.

The company’s history traces back to a predecessor established in 1905. It adopted the Nucor name in 1972 and became known for expanding the mini-mill model and EAF steelmaking in the United States. Nucor serves customers throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico through a network of mills, fabrication facilities, processing centers and recycling operations. Leon J. Topalian serves as Nucor’s chair, president and chief executive officer.
