About Southern Copper

Southern Copper (NYSE:SCCO) Corp. is an integrated copper producer engaged in the exploration, mining, processing, smelting and refining of copper and other minerals. Its principal products include copper cathodes, copper concentrates, molybdenum, zinc, silver and lead. The company also produces sulfuric acid and other byproducts through its metallurgical operations.

Southern Copper operates major mining and processing assets in Mexico and Peru. Its Mexican operations include the Buenavista del Cobre and La Caridad mining complexes, while its Peruvian operations include the Cuajone and Toquepala mines. The company’s vertically integrated infrastructure includes concentrators, smelters, refineries and transportation facilities that support the production and distribution of refined metals and concentrates.

The company was established in 1952 as Southern Peru Copper Corporation and later adopted the Southern Copper name following the combination of its operations with those of Minera México. Southern Copper is a subsidiary of Grupo México, a diversified Mexican company with interests in mining, transportation and infrastructure. Its shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol SCCO.
