Founded in 1957 through the merger of Agnico Mines and Eagle Mines, Agnico Eagle has grown into one of the world’s largest gold producers. Its operating portfolio is concentrated in established mining regions, including the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec, Nunavut in northern Canada, and Finland. The company also maintains exploration and development interests designed to extend the life and potential of its mineral properties.

Agnico Eagle’s major Canadian assets include the Detour Lake, Macassa, LaRonde, Goldex, Canadian Malartic, Meliadine and Meadowbank operations. Its Kittila mine in Finland is one of Europe’s significant gold mines. The company is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, and is led by President and Chief Executive Officer Ammar Al-Joundi.
