About Starbucks

Starbucks (NASDAQ:SBUX) is a global specialty coffee company that operates coffeehouses and sells coffee, tea and other beverages, along with food products and merchandise. Its menu includes brewed coffee, espresso-based drinks, cold beverages, teas, bakery items and ready-to-eat food. Starbucks also markets packaged coffee, ready-to-drink beverages and related products through retail and grocery channels, often through licensing and other business partnerships.

Founded in Seattle in 1971, Starbucks expanded from a local coffee retailer into an international brand. The company serves customers through company-operated and licensed stores across North America and numerous international markets, including countries in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Its business also includes digital ordering, delivery in select markets and a customer loyalty program.

Starbucks is led by Brian Niccol, who became chairman and chief executive officer in September 2024. The company’s history is also closely associated with Howard Schultz, who helped build Starbucks into a global coffeehouse brand and served multiple terms as its chief executive.
