Ambev (NYSE:ABEV) is a Brazilian beverage company and one of the largest brewers in Latin America. The company produces, distributes and sells beer, carbonated soft drinks, nonalcoholic beverages and other drink products through a portfolio that includes brands such as Brahma, Skol, Antarctica, Bohemia, Budweiser, Stella Artois and Guaraná Antarctica.
Founded in 1999 through the merger of Companhia Antarctica Paulista and Companhia Cervejaria Brahma, Ambev became part of Anheuser-Busch InBev following the latter’s combination with Anheuser-Busch in 2008. Ambev operates breweries, beverage production facilities and distribution networks serving customers in Brazil and several other countries in Latin America, including Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay and the Dominican Republic.
In addition to its beverage manufacturing operations, the company sells products through retail, hospitality and direct-to-consumer channels and has developed digital platforms and services for business customers. Ambev is headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil, and its shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol ABEV.
