About Ouster

Ouster (NASDAQ:OUST) is a technology company that develops lidar sensors and software for machine perception. Its digital lidar products use laser light to create three-dimensional representations of surrounding environments, helping machines detect objects, measure distances, and operate with greater situational awareness.

The company’s product portfolio includes lidar sensors for industrial automation, robotics, autonomous vehicles, transportation, mapping, and smart-infrastructure applications. Ouster also develops software and perception tools designed to process lidar data and support applications such as asset tracking, traffic monitoring, security, and autonomous navigation.

Ouster was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in San Francisco, California. In 2023, it completed a merger with Velodyne Lidar, bringing together two lidar businesses under the Ouster name. The company serves customers and partners across automotive, industrial, robotics, mapping, and infrastructure markets in North America and international markets. Angus Pacala, one of Ouster’s founders, serves as chief executive officer.
