The company’s commercial portfolio includes Emflaza (deflazacort), a corticosteroid approved in the United States to treat Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and Upstaza (eladocagene exuparvovec), a gene therapy for aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase deficiency in eligible patients. PTC has also developed Translarna (ataluren) for certain genetic disorders involving nonsense mutations and is advancing candidates such as sepiapterin for phenylketonuria and vatiquinone for mitochondrial diseases.

PTC serves patients and healthcare providers through commercial operations in the United States and international markets, including Europe and other regions. The company was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in Warren, New Jersey. Matthew B. Klein serves as PTC Therapeutics’ chief executive officer.
