About Rhythm Pharmaceuticals

Rhythm Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:RYTM) is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing medicines for rare genetic diseases of obesity and other disorders involving the melanocortin-4 receptor (MC4R) pathway. The company’s research is centered on conditions in which genetic defects disrupt the body’s regulation of appetite, hunger and energy expenditure.

Rhythm’s lead product is IMCIVREE (setmelanotide), an MC4R agonist designed to restore signaling in the brain’s melanocortin pathway. The therapy is approved in the United States for chronic weight management in adults and children with obesity caused by certain genetic deficiencies, including POMC, PCSK1 and LEPR deficiencies, as well as Bardet-Biedl syndrome. Setmelanotide is also authorized in the European Union for certain patients with genetically confirmed rare forms of obesity.

Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, Rhythm serves patients through commercial and medical operations in the United States and international markets. The company continues to study setmelanotide in additional rare genetic obesity populations and develop other potential treatments targeting the MC4R pathway. David Meeker has served as Rhythm’s president and chief executive officer.
