About Suncor Energy

Suncor Energy (NYSE:SU) Inc. is an integrated energy company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. Its operations span the development and production of crude oil from Canada’s oil sands, offshore petroleum production, refining, and the marketing and distribution of petroleum products.

The company produces synthetic crude oil, bitumen and conventional crude oil, which are processed through its refining operations into fuels and other refined products. Suncor markets fuel and convenience products through the Petro-Canada retail network and supplies commercial, wholesale and industrial customers. Its energy portfolio also includes investments in lower-carbon and renewable energy initiatives.

Suncor traces its history to 1967, when Great Canadian Oil Sands began commercial oil sands operations. The company expanded through acquisitions and strategic development, including its 2009 merger with Petro-Canada, which strengthened its refining, marketing and retail businesses. Suncor primarily serves customers in Canada and the United States, with operations and commercial activities centered on the North American energy market.

Rich Kruger has served as Suncor’s president and chief executive officer since 2023. The company’s common shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol SU.
