Yamaha Motor (OTCMKTS:YAMHF) Co., Ltd. is a Japan-based manufacturer of mobility, marine and industrial products. Although it shares the Yamaha name with Yamaha Corporation, Yamaha Motor is a separate company focused primarily on motorized vehicles, engines and related equipment.
The company’s products include motorcycles, scooters, all-terrain vehicles, recreational off-road vehicles, snowmobiles and other powersports equipment. Its marine business produces outboard motors, personal watercraft and boats, while its power-products operations include generators and multipurpose engines. Yamaha Motor also develops industrial machinery, including surface-mount technology equipment, industrial robots and other factory-automation systems.
Yamaha Motor was established in 1955 as a spin-off from Nippon Gakki Co., Ltd., now known as Yamaha Corporation, following the development of its first motorcycle, the YA-1. Headquartered in Iwata, Shizuoka, Japan, the company serves customers worldwide through manufacturing operations, subsidiaries, distributors and dealerships across Japan, North America, Europe, Asia and other international markets.
