About Seres Therapeutics

Seres Therapeutics (NASDAQ:MCRB) is a biotechnology company focused on developing live biotherapeutics designed to treat diseases by restoring or modifying the human microbiome. The company’s research has centered on microbial communities that may influence immune function, gastrointestinal health and disease progression.

Seres’ lead product, VOWST (fecal microbiota spores, live-brpk), was developed to reduce the recurrence of Clostridioides difficile infection in adults following antibacterial treatment. The orally administered therapy uses purified bacterial spores to help restore the gut microbiome and received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2023.

Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Seres has pursued microbiome-based therapies for gastrointestinal and immune-mediated conditions. The company’s programs have included treatments intended to support patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and other therapies that can disrupt the intestinal microbiome. Seres has served primarily the U.S. market through its development and commercialization activities and has worked with pharmaceutical and healthcare partners to advance its products.
