About DoorDash

DoorDash (NASDAQ:DASH) operates a technology-driven logistics and food-delivery marketplace that connects consumers, merchants and independent delivery contractors. The company’s core service enables customers to order from local restaurants and retailers through its app and website while DoorDash handles last-mile fulfillment via its network of drivers, known as “Dashers.” Over time the platform has broadened beyond restaurant deliveries to include groceries, convenience items and retail deliveries, positioning DoorDash as a broader on-demand logistics provider for consumer goods.

In addition to its marketplace, DoorDash offers a suite of products and services for consumers and businesses. Consumer offerings include subscription services such as DashPass and branded storefronts like DashMart for on-demand convenience and grocery items. For business customers, DoorDash provides enterprise logistics and white-label delivery solutions through DoorDash Drive, tools for merchants to manage orders, and advertising services intended to help partner merchants increase visibility on the platform.

Founded in 2013 by Tony Xu, Stanley Tang, Andy Fang and Evan Moore while they were at Stanford, DoorDash is headquartered in San Francisco, California. The company completed its initial public offering in December 2020 and has since expanded operations beyond the United States into markets including Canada and Australia. Its business model emphasizes scalable last-mile logistics and partnerships with a broad mix of independent restaurants, national chains and retail merchants.

Tony Xu, a co-founder, serves as DoorDash’s chief executive, and the company’s leadership has prioritized investments in logistics technology, merchant services and diversification of delivery categories. DoorDash continues to evolve its product offerings and merchant integrations to capture a wider set of on-demand commerce use cases.
