About Magnachip Semiconductor

Magnachip Semiconductor (NYSE:MX) Inc. is a fabless semiconductor company specializing in high-performance analog and mixed-signal solutions for the display, power management and lighting markets. Its core product portfolio includes display driver ICs for LCD and OLED panels, high-voltage MOSFETs, DC-DC converters, LED driver ICs and power management devices used in consumer electronics, mobile devices, industrial equipment and automotive applications.

Founded in 2004 as a spin-off from MagnaChip, Magnachip is incorporated in the United States with design and sales offices strategically located across North America, Europe and Asia. The company partners with leading foundries in South Korea, Taiwan and elsewhere to manufacture its chips, while maintaining R&D centers focused on advanced process nodes and new feature development to meet evolving customer requirements.

Magnachip served a global customer base including major OEMs and module makers in China, Korea, Japan, Europe and North America. Its display driver products have been integrated into a wide range of smartphones, tablets, televisions and automotive infotainment systems, and its power management and LED driver ICs have found applications in backlighting, general illumination and industrial lighting solutions.

Until mid-2020, Magnachip was traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol MX. In July 2020, the company agreed to be acquired by private equity firm Wise Road Capital, transitioning to private ownership. Under new leadership, Magnachip continues to invest in R&D to support next-generation display standards, energy-efficient lighting systems and emerging power-management platforms.
