LyondellBasell Industries Earnings Headlines

The end may be near for these iconic stocks
Marc Chaikin, founder of Chaikin Analytics, says two forces - AI disruption and fracturing global trade - are triggering a historic wealth transfer already underway in 2026. Household names like Intuit (-57%), Boston Scientific (-49%), and Tractor Supply (-40%) are cratering, while lesser-known companies like Sandisk (+573%) and Rackspace (+444%) surge. Chaikin has identified specific stocks he believes investors should sell before they fall further - and the names may surprise you. He's also pinpointing a company tapped as Nvidia's self-driving partner and a potential AI megadeal that could split into three high-growth stocks. About LyondellBasell Industries

LyondellBasell Industries (NYSE:LYB) (NYSE: LYB) is a global chemical company headquartered in Houston, Texas, that specializes in the production of polyolefins and advanced polymers. Through its extensive portfolio, the company supplies raw materials for a wide range of end markets, including packaging, automotive, construction, electronics and consumer goods. By combining proprietary process technologies with expertise in catalysts, LyondellBasell aims to deliver value-added solutions that enhance product performance and sustainability.

The company’s integrated operations encompass the manufacture of olefins and polyolefins, advanced polymer products, chemical intermediates and refining activities. Its olefins and polyolefins division produces ethylene, propylene and polyethylene grades under brands such as Hostalen and Lupolen. In its advanced polymers segment, LyondellBasell develops specialty compounds and high-performance materials for applications requiring durability, flexibility or chemical resistance. The intermediates business supplies key feedstocks to both internal and external customers, while the refining arm processes crude oil into fuels and feedstocks for downstream chemical production.

LyondellBasell was formed in December 2007 through the merger of Houston-based Lyondell Chemical Company and Basell Polyolefins, a joint venture between Royal Dutch Shell and BASF. Following a financial restructuring that concluded in 2010, the company emerged with a streamlined balance sheet and renewed focus on operational efficiency and growth. Over the years, LyondellBasell has invested in capacity expansions, technology licensing and sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing recycling of plastic waste.

Operating in more than 100 sites across the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, LyondellBasell serves a diversified global customer base. The company employs approximately 18,000 people worldwide and maintains regional research and technical centers to drive innovation. LyondellBasell is led by President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Patel, who oversees corporate strategy, global operations and ongoing efforts to advance circular economy solutions in the chemical industry.
