These facilities include natural gas liquefaction plants, LNG storage, and marine terminals used to load LNG onto specially designed vessels for export. The company continues to develop and expand its liquefaction and related infrastructure.

Cheniere was founded in 1996 and initially focused on developing LNG import facilities in the United States. As domestic natural gas production increased, the company shifted its strategy toward LNG exports and began exporting LNG from the lower 48 states in 2016. Cheniere supplies customers across regions including Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Jack Fusco serves as the company’s president and chief executive officer.
