Steel Dynamics, Inc. is a steel producer and metals recycler headquartered in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Founded in 1993, the company operates electric arc furnaces that use recycled steel and other metallic inputs to manufacture a broad range of steel products. Its customers include companies in the construction, automotive, manufacturing, transportation, energy and appliance industries.

Steel Dynamics’ steel operations produce flat-rolled steel, structural steel, rail, engineered bar products and other specialty steel products. The company also provides steel coating and finishing services, including galvanizing and painting, and manufactures products such as steel joists, deck and fabricated reinforcing steel for the construction market.

Through its metals recycling operations, Steel Dynamics collects, processes and supplies ferrous and nonferrous scrap to steel mills and other industrial customers. Its operations serve customers primarily in the United States, with additional activities and markets in Mexico and Canada. Steel Dynamics is led by President and Chief Executive Officer Mark D. Millett, who has held senior leadership roles with the company since its early years.
