What are analysts saying about Entergy stock?
Here are some recent quotes from research analysts about Entergy stock:
- 1. According to Zacks Investment Research, "Entergy is gradually shifting from a hybrid model to a pure-play utility. Its disciplined investment in growth projects will drive growth. Going ahead, the company's plans to invest $10.41 billion in the 2017–2019 time period buoys further optimism. Besides, Entergy has reaffirmed adjusted earnings per share from its utility, parent and other segment could rise roughly 5% to 7% a year, for next three years. Moreover, Entergy's share price has outperformed the Zacks categorized Utility-Electric Power industry price over the last one year. On the flip side, the company is going through a low interest rate phase, which is affecting its pension and post retirement benefit expenses. Entergy operates along the gulf coast of the U.S., a high risk area that sees strong hurricane activity. This exposes the company's utility plants to damage and expenditure associated with storm-related restoration." (4/18/2017)
- 2. Goldman Sachs Group Inc analysts commented, "We downgrade ETR from Buy to Neutral given (1) a lower expected value for ETR's non-regulated segment (EWC) on our revised cash flow estimates as plants are sold or retired, (2) a lower 12-month SOTP target price of $76/sh (from $82/sh) implying less upside potential and (3) few catalysts. We decrease our cash flow forecasts for EWC and revise our 2018 EV/EBITDA multiple for this segment due to lower expected cash flows. PCG, AEP, PEG ' and now FE ' emerge as our top large cap ideas on valuation. Since upgrading ETR on 3/31/16, the shares underperformed the sector index and the S&P500 by 8%/20% given higher than expected plant shutdown costs." (3/23/2017)
