What are analysts saying about ArcelorMittal stock?
Here are some recent quotes from research analysts about ArcelorMittal stock:
- Jefferies Group LLC analysts commented, "This week, we hosted a roadshow with MT Head of Finance Genuino Christino and Head of IR Daniel Fairclough to discuss the firm's outlook following solid Q4 results. Steel industry conditions are improving, driven by Chinese supply reform, rising trade protection and growing Western demand. But, MT's confidence stems from effective self-help measures, driving strong earnings and FCF momentum and improving the co's long-term prospects. Reiterate Buy." (2/10/2017)
According to Zacks Investment Research, "ArcelorMittal swung to a profit in the third quarter of 2016. Revenues, however, fell year over year on lower steel shipments and steel prices. ArcelorMittal should gain from its efforts to reduce debt, lower costs, expand capacity and improve efficiency. The company expects cash savings of more than $1 billion in 2016, partly through reduced interest expenses resulting from debt cuts. Moreover, ArcelorMittal is looking to sell its non-core assets to focus on important operations and also expanding its advanced high strength steel product line. However, ArcelorMittal faces near-term headwind from rising metallurgical coal prices. The company also continues to contend with soft economic conditions in Europe and China and volatility in steel prices. Moreover, China, which has built up a massive excess steel capacity, still remains a concern." (12/2/2016)
