What are analysts saying about Time Warner stock?
Here are some recent quotes from research analysts about Time Warner stock:
According to Zacks Investment Research, "Time Warner has outperformed the Zacks categorized industry in the past one year. The company’s initiatives such as foraying into new markets and digital endeavors bode well, as evident from its positive earnings surprise streak for more than 20 straight quarters, including an earnings beat of 5% in fourth-quarter 2016. The company's investments in video content and technology continued to show results. Further, Time Warner’s significant international presence has helped broaden client base and product portfolio. Additionally, we believe that investments in programming, production and marketing, along with focus on operating and capital efficiencies augur well. However, decline in overall advertising spending and currency headwinds may adversely impact performance. On the other hand, AT&T has agreed to acquire Time Warner in an $85.4 billion deal. This prompted the company to suspend its share repurchase program in Oct 2016." (2/13/2017)
FBR & Co analysts commented, "AYR is scheduled to report 4Q16 earnings before the market open on February 14. We expect EPS of $0.46, below the consensus of $0.50 due primarily to our expectation for a continuation into 4Q of AYR’s recent trend of quarterly impairment charges. Such charges in 3Q16 resulted in AYR reporting below-consensus earnings, but as we noted then, despite the impairment charges, overall operating trends in 3Q16 were positive with higher lease revenues and improved profitability with higher ROE and ROA. Looking ahead, we expect these trends to continue in 4Q16, supported by AYR’s de-risked balance sheet and strong industrywide passenger growth trends. We anticipate that AYR will generate an ROE of 7.6% and an ROAA of 1.91% in 4Q16, above the 6.1% and 1.60% of 3Q16." (2/9/2017)
- Wedbush analysts commented, "... recent developments and checks at the FCC increase our confidence in deal closing, and we raise our PT to $107.50. We understand that arbs have replaced some of the core media investor base, as views on the path to a deal continue to become more important. The appointment of Ajit Pai as Chairman of the FCC decreases the likelihood of deal failure at the hands of the FCC, which deal skeptics have flagged as one of the bigger regulatory risks."
