DiDi Global Inc., formerly known as Didi Chuxing, is a mobility technology company that operates a digital platform connecting passengers with transportation providers. Its services have included ride-hailing, taxi booking, private-car services, carpooling, designated driving, and other forms of urban transportation.

The company has also developed services related to bike and scooter sharing, intercity travel, freight and delivery, vehicle solutions, and transportation technology. DiDi’s operations have historically been concentrated in China, while its international mobility business has served selected markets across Latin America, Asia-Pacific and other regions.

Founded in 2012 through the combination of two Chinese ride-hailing businesses, DiDi expanded rapidly in China and acquired Uber’s China operations in 2016. The company completed an initial public offering in the United States in 2021 and later withdrew its American depositary shares from the New York Stock Exchange. DiDi was co-founded by Cheng Wei, who has served as the company’s chief executive officer.
