Novozymes A/S was a Danish biotechnology company specializing in biological solutions based on enzymes, microorganisms and related technologies. Its products were designed to help businesses improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce resource use and develop more sustainable alternatives to conventional chemical processes.

The company supplied enzyme and microbial products for a range of industries, including household care, food and beverages, agriculture, animal health, bioenergy and industrial manufacturing. Applications included laundry and cleaning products, baking and brewing, starch processing, animal feed, crop-related solutions and the production of biofuels and other biobased materials.

Novozymes was established as an independent company in 2000 after being separated from Novo Nordisk and served customers across global markets through research, production and commercial operations in multiple regions. In January 2024, Novozymes combined with Chr. Hansen, another Danish bioscience company, to form Novonesis. Ester Baiget served as Novozymes’ president and chief executive officer before and during the combination process.
