Matt Johnson started his financial career after retiring from professional baseball with the Toronto Blue Jays. As an athlete and a student, Matt achieved numerous honors both on and off the field. His success in sports and his passion for financial strategy and management led him to seek out a way to help benefit others. In 1996, he joined First Union Securities where he developed a unique specialization-working with those in professional sports. Matt then spent 17 years at Merrill Lynch before joining UBS Financial Services in 2020 , growing his business beyond the sports world. Matt maintains his initial, significant, and notable Major League Baseball and National Football League athletes that started with him, while continuing to grow into other sports, including the NFL and PGA. The cornerstone of Matt’s practice is providing investment and financial planning strategies built around the unique financial goals and dreams of each client. Matt creates lasting relationships by taking time to educate, finding solutions to reach specific goals, and takes time to listen to what is important to you and your family. Matt attended the University of Iowa. He lives in Lakewood, Colorado with his 3 daughters. He also enjoys skiing, golfing, attending sporting events, and enjoying the great outdoors.
