About Edgewise Therapeutics

Edgewise Therapeutics (NASDAQ:EWTX) is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing small-molecule medicines for severe muscle disorders. The company’s research is centered on therapies intended to address the biological mechanisms that contribute to muscle damage and impaired function in diseases affecting skeletal and cardiac muscle.

Edgewise’s lead program is sevasemten (also known as EDG-5506), an orally administered investigational therapy designed to reduce contraction-related muscle injury by selectively modulating fast skeletal muscle contractility. The program has been evaluated in clinical studies involving Duchenne muscular dystrophy and other muscular dystrophies, including Becker muscular dystrophy and certain limb-girdle muscular dystrophies.

The company has also developed EDG-7500, an investigational cardiac myosin inhibitor intended for potential use in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and other conditions involving abnormal cardiac muscle contraction. Edgewise was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado. Its programs have been studied through clinical development activities involving patients and research sites in multiple regions. Kevin Koch, Ph.D., serves as president and chief executive officer.
