About Steel Dynamics

Steel Dynamics (NASDAQ:STLD) is a U.S.-based, diversified steel producer and metals recycler that operates an integrated network of mini-mills, finishing lines and fabrication facilities. Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the company manufactures a broad range of steel products and provides downstream processing, coating and fabrication services to industrial customers. Its operations combine steelmaking using electric-arc furnaces with extensive metals recycling capabilities, allowing Steel Dynamics to convert scrap ferrous and nonferrous materials into finished steel products.

The company’s product portfolio includes flat-rolled steel (coiled and sheet products), structural steel and fabricated components, along with coated and painted steel used in consumer, industrial and construction applications. Steel Dynamics also offers custom processing services such as slitting, cut-to-length, galvanizing and painting, enabling it to supply both commodity-grade and value-added specialty products tailored to customer specifications.

Steel Dynamics serves a wide array of end markets, including automotive, construction, appliance, manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, primarily across the United States while participating in export markets as conditions warrant. Its footprint comprises steel mills, finishing and coating lines, fabrication yards and scrap recycling facilities located in multiple states, designed to support regional customer demand and logistical efficiency.

The company emphasizes vertical integration, operational efficiency and the recycling of scrap metal as core elements of its business model. Steel Dynamics invests in production capacity, finishing technologies and downstream services to broaden its product mix and respond to changing market requirements, while positioning itself to supply both commodity steel and specialized, value-added components to industrial customers.
